Illustrated workflow · not a live status display

Start here

Set up Facebook Live streaming.

Use the stream credentials Facebook provides for your live broadcast.

Before you begin. Facebook controls live eligibility and key availability. Follow the options shown for your account; saving here does not publish a Facebook post.

  1. Prepare your broadcast

Open Facebook Live Producer with an account allowed to broadcast to your chosen profile or Page.

  2. Choose streaming software

Find the server URL and stream key in the streaming software setup. Copy each value exactly as Facebook supplies it.

  3. Review in Live Producer

After starting the workspace broadcast, check Facebook’s preview, audience and publishing controls.

Account eligibility and platform controls can change. Follow the requirements shown in your account. Some official help pages require sign-in.

Connect the workflow in IAmAStreamer

Create a workspace, enroll your server and upload your video. Add Facebook Live in Destinations using its URL and key, then prepare a prerecorded broadcast in Live streams. Choose the source, server and output settings, start manually, and verify the platform preview.

From your workspace to your audience

How IAmAStreamer helps.

Keep the video on your server

After your uploaded video starts on the connected VPS, the broadcast process can continue while your laptop is off. Your server and its network must remain online.

Keep destinations organized

Save provider-issued URLs and encrypted stream keys, then select destinations when preparing a broadcast. Plan limits determine how many outputs you can use.

See what the process reports

Review output attempts, failures, timing and reported transfer in your dashboard. Confirm audience delivery and viewer analytics on the destination platform.

A creator workflow

A community workshop replay

Prepare a workshop recording with permission from its participants. Create your broadcast in Facebook, save its encoder credentials in IAmAStreamer, and publish from your connected server. Describe the video as a replay and arrange for someone to follow comments on Facebook.

You supply the server and eligible platform account. Hosting costs and plan allowances still apply. Schedules currently save planning records; start broadcasts manually. Browser camera production, platform chat and audience analytics are not integrated.

Prepare a better viewing experience

Practical creator tips.

  • Tell viewers when the video is prerecorded and whether someone will respond to comments.
  • Confirm the correct Page or profile and intended audience before publishing.
  • Keep important text large enough to read on a phone and include captions in your source video when practical.
  • Use video, music and images you have permission to broadcast. Review the destination’s current content rules before publishing.
  • Run a short rehearsal and check the viewer page on a second device. Keep stream keys out of screenshots, notes and public links.
For your viewers

Where to watch, and what to share.

Share the Facebook video or post link with your community. Audience restrictions and sign-in requirements can affect access. Check the link using the access level your intended viewers have.

If playback buffers, lower the player’s quality when available, reload the page, and try a stable connection. If many viewers report the same issue, the creator should inspect the source and platform preview.

When something does not look right.

The platform shows no incoming video

Check that the correct server is connected, the URL and key belong to this broadcast, and the key has not expired. Review the run error and platform preview before retrying.

The stream stutters or falls behind

Compare the source file, server CPU and network capacity with the chosen bitrate and resolution. Reduce the workload and run a short rehearsal before a longer broadcast.

The video is visible but silent

Play the source file locally, check that it contains the intended audio track, then check mute and volume controls in the platform preview and viewer player.

A viewer cannot open the broadcast

Share the public watch or event URL. Check account restrictions, event visibility and sign-in requirements. Try the link from another device with the intended viewer permissions.

Your streaming questions.

Why can’t everyone see my Facebook stream?

Check the broadcast audience, Page or profile permissions, and whether viewers need to sign in. Saving a destination in this app does not change Facebook’s visibility settings.

Does a running status mean my audience can see the stream?

A running status reports the process on your server. Check the destination’s preview and viewer page to confirm that audio and video arrive and that the broadcast is published.

Can I send the same video to several platforms?

You can select multiple destinations when your plan permits. Each output uses server resources and transfer. Review each platform’s rules and configure settings it accepts before starting.

Does this guarantee views or income?

No. The workspace helps you prepare and operate broadcasts. Audience growth and earnings depend on your content, audience, platform eligibility and other factors.
