Facebook Live
Facebook Live archives now need an ownership plan
Meta’s storage policy limits new Facebook Live replays to 30 days, making downloads, transfers, and reusable clips part of the publishing workflow.
Meta announced that new Facebook Live videos can be replayed, downloaded, or shared for 30 days before automatic removal. The company also described download, cloud transfer, and Reel conversion options. For creators and agencies, the practical change is larger than an archive setting: the publishing checklist must include where the master recording lives after the platform window ends.
What to take into the workflow
- Treat platform replay as temporary distribution, not permanent storage
- Download or transfer important broadcasts before the retention window closes
- Keep a reusable master and clip plan outside the platform
